Local Villages

Fourteen parishes make up the ‘and District’ part of ‘Thornbury and District Museum’.

The parishes are:

• Almondsbury
• Alveston
• Aust
• Charfield
• Cromhall
• Falfield
• Hill
• Oldbury-on-Severn
• Olveston
• Pilning & Severn Beach
• Rangeworthy
• Rockhampton
• Tortworth
• Tytherington  (for which there is a local history website, Tytherington Roots)

We welcome contributions, especially photos and stories, from our entire collecting area. Several museum exhibitions have focused on aspects of life in these parishes and their associated villages. Often, people in these areas have come up with the ideas for the exhibitions and have contributed material and worked with us to put the exhibitions together. We hope you’ll keep the ideas coming.
