On and Off the Rails

Exhibition: Fri 10 May 2024 - Tue 30 Jul 2024
Venue: The Museum Admission: FREE

‘On and Off the Rails’ is our latest temporary exhibition and it celebrates the railways of South Gloucestershire!

Working with other museums in the South Gloucestershire Museums Group, our museum has contributed to charting the story of local railways from their early history in the 1830s up to the 2020s.

The exhibition deals with themes including: past (but no longer surviving) stations, such as Thornbury; the working lives of railway staff; passenger holidays; and the transportation of freight.

Come along and revel in the history of a vital local transport system.

The Museum is open on Tuesday and Friday afternoons, from 1pm to 4pm and on Saturdays from 10m to 4pm.  Entry is free.  All ages welcome!
