50 years of the Severn Bridge

To mark the official opening of the Severn Bridge on 8 September 1966, we’re showing a small collection of bridge photographs and memorabilia in our upstairs gallery.
And of course the opening of the Bridge meant the end of the Aust Ferry.
Were you involved in the construction of the bridge? Did you witness the official opening ceremony? Do you remember the old Aust ferry? Have you got any good stories about crossing the waters of the mighty Severn?
Volunteers at the Museum would be interested in hearing your memories or in seeing any photographs you might have in connection with the bridge.
