We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to our new brand new exhibition very soon.
When we re-open, after our winter closure, on Tuesday 4th February 2025, we’ll have a wonderful new exhibition for you to see, curated by our young archaeologist trustee Aaron Girdlestone.
The exhibition will tell the story – thus far – of the archaeological excavation at Lower Hazel, near Alveston.
Begun well over a decade ago by museum volunteers, the dig has in recent years been adopted by the University of Bristol’s Archaeology Department, as the place where its archaeology students carry out their annual placement dig.
The dig has also featured on ‘Digging for Britain’, with Alice Roberts.
Our trustee Aaron has worked at the site for many years and plays a central role there.
Make a note in your diary to come along in February and find out all about this exciting local discovery!
